Text of Bernhard Vomund's hand written will, located in the Lincoln County courthouse, in Troy, Missouri.

In the name of God. Amen. I, Bernard Vommund of the County of Lincoln and State of Missouri, being of sound and disposing mind, and memory; and considering the uncertainty of this frail, and transitory life; and having in view the certainty of death, the hope of the resurrection, and of Eternal life, do make and publish as my last will and testament, the following, to with;

First:- It is my will and desire, that my Burial Expenses and all my just debts be paid.

Second:- I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Heleana Vommund all the residue of my Estate; Real, personal, and mixed, for and during the period of her natural life.

Third:- I will and bequeath, that at death of said wife, if she outlive me, my said Estate shall pass to my children in the following portions, To with:-

1st To my son Henry Vommund, I will and bequeath the sum of five dollars.

2nd To my children Frank, Taotor, Heleana, and Frances and George Vommund, I will all my Real Estate, share and share alike.

3rd To my children Taotor, Heleana, and Frances and George aforesaid, I will all my personal and mixed Estate, share and share alike.

Fourth: - It is my will and desire that my beloved Daughter, Heleana Vommund be the Executrix of this my will and testament; and that after the death of my said wife, my said Executrix proceed, as soon as may be practicable, to execute, and carry out the several provisions of this my said last will and testament; my said wife remaining during her natural life in the undisturbed possession and enjoyment of said Estate as hereinbefore provided. -- And having full confidence in the integrity and honesty of my said Executrix, it is my desire, and I do herein require and direct, that she be not required to gave bond for the performance of this trust. --

In testimony whereof, I have hereto set my ???? & seal, this 30th day of September A.D. 1870.
